Whoo! I finally got my ring Smile I ordered it ages ago only to be told they didn't sell it in my size because I have little fingers, and they couldn't resize the one in store...then we were told another nearby-ish store had one that could be re-sized so we went and spoke to them and got it all sent off...then they lost it Laughing and didn't find it for two weeks...but now I have it, whoo! cheers

We just need to find one Edge likes now!

First favourite thing about today, we've had 70 people check out the cam so far - thankyou! Smile

And secondly, tonight in the forest (which is usually deserted apart from dog walkers) there was a group of about 12 joggers running through, in separate groups. Kasper was already off-lead and close to us on the path, but I didn't call him back I left him and waited to see what he would do...

He just stood and wagged at them!! They were running literally 1 metre in front of him and he stood and watched one group, then disappeared into the trees after watching the next!! cheers This is the dog who used to run after joggers, jump up and circle them when we first got him!

I called him back and we had a party after each set he saw and he ran off all giddy...he was there for 3 groups off the joggers (they were running laps) and he didn't jump up, follow or show any interest other than wagging for any of them! I was so glad we spent all that time doing impulse control Very Happy

Then, about 30 mins further on I hadn't seen him for about 10 minutes, so I yelled a "Kasp, where you at?" and he zoomed out of the forest almost immediately and came and sat in front of me...he really made my day today Smile I love you

I have such a lame best today...we went to the carboot and I got a dog racing DVD game Laughing I've always been interested in dog racing but never wanted to go from a moral stand point (last time my parents tried to get us to go, I ended up being very glad I didn't as one dog was knocked into a post, broke it's leg and was stood on the track screaming :C ), so betting with fake money on a DVD will be fun, especially as it is being turned into a drinking game Laughing

Best: seeing a red squirrel in our garden yesterday Smile I saw wild red squirrels for the first time in about eight years a few months ago in the village next to ours, and then yesterday we saw a red squirrel in our own garden! I love red squirrels too, I remember when you could still see them in the forest we used to play in as little kids, but they were all replaced by the greys.

We took Kasper out for a walk quite late tonight and it was already pretty dark. In the forest it was practically pitch black, and me and Edge were shuffling along with my little wind-up torch. We were in the thickest part of the forest when there was the most terrifying noise ever, it was like the zombie apocalypse! Laughing We froze, hearts pounding, and we heard it all the rest of the way around the woods...I think it was some sort of owl/s?

It started with a hooting noise but ended on a sort of shriek...very very odd. I'd be interested if anyone knows what it could have been!

Ah we have finally done a lot of gardening that really needed doing! We only just stopped now because it was too dark to see, but one section of the garden is completely finished and the others are all over halfway there!

We found a frog, toad and two newts in the garden as we went along. One of the newts was accidentally injured as we pulled up rocks so we have him in a hospital bay right now and will release him when healed. I adore newts and would love to put a pond somewhere in the garden so we might be lucky to have some stay in the pond or nearby land. He's a dinky little smooth / common newt, I will have to post a pic.

best: firstly we spent most the day with my nana who I haven't seen for ages so that was nice Smile

Secondly we walked the dog late and it was pitch black in the forest. As we were leaving two people asked if we'd seen a silver key anywhere because they'd lost it! We apologised and wished them luck, then right at the edge of the forest where it was just light enough to see, I spotted a key off the path and was able to yell "I FOUND THE KEY!" into the gloom and give it back to them - nice feel good factor! Razz

Then, finally, on our road there was a young boy walking a small Collie that barked at our dog then dragged him over to say hi. The little collie was very sweet, though a bit growly with our hyper dog but you can't blame her for that! She came and sat and said hello so gently to me, while Kasper sat a few feet away wagging manically, and the kid was chatting to me and he was very sweet too. After he'd left we realised he was the younger brother of a girl who bought treats from us for the collie, how weird is that! Smile

A best from yesterday, we went to the laser quest which is only about 30 minutes away and we had a great time! It was actually quite scary inside, it was based on Resident Evil so there were zombies, blood stains etc and whenever I was in a quiet area I got quite freaked out Laughing

My best is that all the forms should have arrived at the RSPCA by now, which means we should get our interviews soon and can then hopefully start work! I'm really excited about it and can't wait to get cracking Smile

Also the bruise I've had for over two weeks after the nurse botched a blood test is finally fading and not hurting when I bend my arm, which is nice!

It has been Bingley Music Live festival these past few days, and the awesome advantage of living in Bingley is that we get to listen to the music from our house and don't have to splash out £40 for a ticket, whoo! Laughing cheers

We heard all three bands that we wanted to from our back garden, Razorlight, Pigeon Detectives and Hard-Fi...it's been so cool! We could hear it really clearly and got to watch all the fireworks, awesome!

I have had a lovely weekend the weather has been nice and we have been doing a little gardening which is long overdue. My son came to visit with benny and he and my husband started a barbeque and we had a lovely weekend soaking up the weather. It will be winter soon and we will look back on this sun and miss it.

It also makes my husband worry about his outdoor fish too although they can easily survive under ice and that is an incredible sight all these brightly coloured fish living under the ice. We have to keep Vera indoors also in the winter when it is icy out as she is liable to slip and hurt herself. Winter isn't as much fun for any species when you get older I don't think!

I'm not a fan of rain but I LOVE those crisp frosty sunny days you get around October, they are my favourite times of the year. And when everywhere's dry but the puddles and mud are cracked with ice and you can stomp through in your wellies...and I adore snow and sledging. I'm a winter person Laughing

Do you have to do anything for fish that live outdoors?

Yes my husband has the pond quite deep as deep water helps the fish survive cold periods. You can't leave the top totally iced over either as the toxins will build up in the water. We have a pump so that the top cannot ice over in that place and this lets the air circulate. The fish can handle very cold water though and they don't really eat as there metabolism slows they will just ignore the food. I seem to eat more in the winter!!

I've seen fish with a totally iced over top before, I didn't think they'd be able to breathe. It was at a butterfly house in Lancaster that we used to go to quite a bit. It looked seriously weird. I never think you can keep fish outside...I mean I know you can but I never imagine they can survive a winter. I'd like to have a pond with fish at some point...the pond my nana had over winter, most the frogs used to die which I thought was weird...do frogs hibernate?? Are they supposed to?

Since I've been thinking about winter too the last 3 nights in a row I've dreamt of snow Laughing

best: The last three days we've had a friend stay over, and yesterday we had my little cousin for the evening too. We played some games then went to Laserquest, and despite it only being us four there it was such good fun and we all really enjoyed it. Then after we took him bowling too, it was a very fun evening and I haven't seen my cousin in months and months...he's almost as tall as me now!!! affraid

My best is that we swapped the budgie cage, cabinet that Keshi is on, and where my laptop is around. It's awesome because my laptop won't get covered in seed husks or feathers anymore, so hopefully the key board will un-gammify! Laughing It makes our living room look bigger too, and Kasper seems enthusiastic about the switch around so everybody's happy Smile

Forgot to say, my best tonight was the hedgehog we saw on our evening dog walk!

We tend to walk Kasper around 7 - 8.30pm, so it's dark when we take him out. Tonight he lunged madly at something on lead so Edge hauled him away and I turned on the torch. Seriously, Edge actually gasped when he saw how big this hedgehog was - it was the size of a football! I didn't realise they got that big! Laughing

Anywhoo, I picked it up and carried it back to the moor. I think it's the sixth hedgehog I've picked up since moving here, I've never picked one up before we moved! It was a hefty thing, but just sat happy as anything in my arms. Absolutely adorable! Smile

Not really such a good day more I wated to comment on the weather and was unsure where else to do it. We have had lots of sun here wrecently but you can definitely tell winter is on its way the leaves are dropping from the trees and the weather is chilly now. We have started eating hearty meals for our tea toad in the hole and stew and dumplings winter is beautiful but I do feel te cold.
