Re: Kasper's thread!
Kasper has started squeezing onto the footstoool under the table that Zoey jumps and sleeps on...hilarity ensues
Re: Kasper's thread!
Just done some amazing training with both dogs (must start doing more training...) and they were brilliant!
Previously Kasper has had trouble following his commands (stay / wait) as he automatically follows Zoey's commands, most notably touch. Today he did fab! I put a bit of distance between us. I stood at one side of the room and gave Kasper the 'on your bed' command, then put him into a sit, down and stay hold. Then me and Zoey did sit, wait, lie down and leave it...after every command Kasper got rewarded for not moving, and Zoey got rewarded for following them!
I got Kasper to do a touch from the bed to my palm, and Zoey to do one from one end of the couch to the other. Kasper didn't join in because my back was to him and it was clearly directed at the pup - yay!

Re: Kasper's thread!
Kasper has just very much enjoyed a frozen sprat...without rolling on it at all!! That's a first, he ate it in 30 seconds!
He had an awesome walk today. We took him up to a nearby farm shop that sells a bit of everything, and the best thing is that the owner (who is brilliant) lets us bring our dogs in! We've only taken Kasper so far, but it's fantastic for him, getting him used to new places and helping overcome his fear of strangers. He's done great both times we've been, the first time he walked right up to an old man (who he is most afraid of) wagging and said hi!!! He didn't want stroking but instigating a hello is fantastic!
Then we wandered a little further to try find a pet shop, which we think has closed down. We stumbled across a public footpath leading to a small forest, and Kasper got to have 15 minutes off-lead sprinting after squirrels in a really beautiful forest. It's a shame it's not five times bigger and the boundary fences aren't better, but it's beautiful as a little walk...

Re: Kasper's thread!
The day before yesterday we took Kasper on a reeeally long walk, which he loved!
We started off at the nearby forest that follows the canal, from there we walked through the fieklds to the canal side and followed it to Saltaire. We walked through Roberts Park, past Titus school and up the tramway to Shipley Glen. Kasper got another period of time off-lead all along the glen, through the forest. We followed the forest to the woods that brought us out by our house, but followed the road upwards to Gilstead and came out near the farm shop. Back past Gilstead park, down the hill and back to our house!
All in all it took about two hours, and Kasper was quite tired afterwards!
And I don't think I've posted this yet - yes, he loves his sister

Kasper eating his raw fish in his crate
Do you think we have enough chews here?!? That's not all the treats either, we have a separate large tin for those!
And isn't he absolutely stunning?!
